Boomkat

Boomkat is an online music retailer, selling vinyl, CDs and downloads.

Our task was to find a way of increasing Boomkat’s download business and of selling back catalogue titles profitably. The music industry is highly reliant on new releases to generate sales, so older titles tend to be sold at a discount.

Our solution was to launch a dedicated platform, 14tracks.com, specifically to sell older titles. The site offers a focused selection of 14 tracks every week along the lines of a theme. The featured tracks are presented in a highly visual way, which has wide ranging appeal to both hobbyists and collectors.

It’s been a great success.

Since launch, the store has increased by 157% Boomkat’s previous download business. And subscriptions to mailshots and weekly communications have grown by 215% of their previous average daily tallies.

14tracks.com a dedicated platform aimed at allowing Boomkat to compile 14 track thematic selections and deliver them through a dedicated user environment.

Boomkat.com’s main site carries over 70,000 unique products across both physical an digital formats including FLAC. All of its systems spanning e-commerce, analytics and digital delivery processing have all been engineered by Rumble.
