It provides a unique backpacker experience which offers safe, comfortable budget accommodation and great facilities. There are more than 800 beds in London and 900 beds in Berlin. Over 50% of its total revenue comes from online sales.
Generator approached us to find ways of improving sales conversion rates, customer retention and new customer acquisition.
Our solution was to concentrate very specifically on the core target of 18-30 year old budget travellers. The new site emphasised low price and great value, and stressed key motivators, including free All You Can Eat breakfasts, bars and entertainment, internet facilities and the London and Berlin locations.
The results have been significant.
The new site has seen a dramatic 26% drop in the bounce rate, a key metric in determining the site’s effectiveness in retaining a referral. Time on site has increased by 6% and the average page views by 9%.
